What is Almaloy Aluminum?
Aluminum alloys are alloys in which aluminum is the predominant metal. Typical alloying elements are copper, zinc, manganese, silicon, and magnesium. Aluminum alloys are widely used in engineering structures and components where lightweight or corrosion resistance is required. Aluminum alloy surfaces will keep their apparent shine in a dry environment due to the formation of a clear, protective oxide layer. In a wet environment, galvanic corrosion can occur when an aluminum alloy is placed in electrical contact with other metals with a more negative corrosion potential than aluminum.
The Almaloy Animal armature is mounted on a formica covered base. The wire is aluminum which is non-corrosive, lightweight, fully pliable, non-staining. This figuret armature is perfect for sculpting human figures.
Weight and length is approximate. This product cannot be fired in a kiln.
The Almaloy animal armature is available in the following sizes:
This strong, fully adjustable animal armature is built of nonstaining, pliable almaloy wire. Its base is Formica on heavy gauge flakeboard or plywood and its backiron is made of sturdy steel.
As an option, you may want to contemplate purchasing our Almaloy Aluminum Wire or other style armatures for the head, head-bust; figures.
