What is Almaloy Aluminum?
Aluminum alloys are alloys in which aluminum is the predominant metal. Typical alloying elements are copper, zinc, manganese, silicon, and magnesium. Aluminum alloys are widely used in engineering structures and components where lightweight or corrosion resistance is required. Aluminum alloy surfaces will keep their apparent shine in a dry environment due to the formation of a clear, protective oxide layer. In a wet environment, galvanic corrosion can occur when an aluminum alloy is placed in electrical contact with other metals with a more negative corrosion potential than aluminum.
The Almaloy head armature is mounted on a formica covered base. The wire is aluminum which is non-corrosive, lightweight, fully pliable, non-staining. This head and bust armature is perfect for sculpting portraits.
Weight and length is approximate. This product cannot be fired in a kiln.
The Almaloy head armature is available in the following sizes:
5/8 Life Size head armature
(recommend for 5/8 scaled head/bust sculpts)
Life Size head armature
(recommend for life sized scaled head/bust sculpts)
As an option, you may want to contemplate purchasing our Almaloy Aluminum Wire or other style armatures for the head, head-bust; animal figures.
